PUBLIC HEALTH PRECAUTIONS

Wellington, This Day. Further regulations under the Public Health Act are gazetted. Tinder the head of disposal of those who died of dangerous or infectious diseases, it is set forth that where possible the body shall be cremated, and where not, special precautions are prescribed. For instance the body shall not be carried to the place of burial in a hoarse, or other conveyance ordinariarly used for burial purposes. Every care shall he taken in case of Chinese and others who lay stress on the non-mutilation of the dead to satisfy the relatives and friends of deceased that no portion of the bod}’ being removed. In no case shall the grave of any such person bo opened for a period of five years after burial. As tuberculosis has been declared an infectious disease, measures for the isolation and treatment of patients will affect,a large section of the community.
