Nelson Races. Nelson, April 17. There was a fair attendance at the Nelson races. £1764 was put through the machine. Results : Hurdles—Right Metal 1, Roderick Dhu 2. Div, 27s and 12s. Scurry Hack— Girlingl, Kaloo 2, Miss Gordon 8. Div, 46s and 295. The Stewards held an enquiry into the running of Kaloo, whom many thought should' have won. The result was that the rider (Fowler) was reprimanded. Cup—Ruamahunga and Volley dead heat for first place, iSanfoin. 3. Div, Ruamahunga 55s and 365, Volley 30s and 13s. A good race and exciting finish. Ruainahunga was l.ving in a handy position at the rear of the field till reaching the straight when he came up and got on even terms with Volley just on the post. Sainfoin who carried 81bs overweight was about a length and a half behind, Trot—Honduras 1, Warrigal 2, Blackpool 3. Div, 33s and 18s. District Hack—lxia 1, First Light, 2, Dialogue 3. Div, 68s and 325. Grandstand Handicap—Eeikura 1, Seabreeze 2, Osborne 8. Div, 70s and 40s. Hope Hack—lxia 1, Horton 2. Tho Pearler 3. Div, 140 s.
Tiraavu Races. Timarit. April 17. The autum meeting was held to-day. The weather was fine, but thero was a gale of wind from the nor' west. £1302 went through tho machine against £I4GO last year. High Weight Handicap, Lady of the Lake 1, Long Tom 2, Magnificent 3. Won easily. Div £3 19s. Washdyko "Welter—Lady Lillian 1, Rent Day 2, Fighting Mac 8. Div £3 19s Hack Race-Bealey. Div £7. Autumn Handicap-Benzion 1, Clytio 2, Cameo 8. Won by a dozen lengths. Div £3 11. Trot —Makikihi 1, Major Robin 2, Daisy 3. Div £4 2^. Selling Race—Grandshot. Div £2 2?. Flying Handicap—St Denu 1, Hypnotist 2, Tsaritsa 3, Div £2 lis.
