GREYMOUTH HARBOR BOARD.

The regular mooting of the Oey Harbor Board was held last night. Present— Messrs Kettle (chair), Campbell, Guinness, Matheson, Shcedy andPclrie. The Finance Committee reported receipts since last meeting (o be 11 10s. Thai, the 11 arbor Board account has a debit balance of £459 13s, but has .-€OOOO in fixed deposit. Accounts amounting to £'7lo 'Js were passed for payment.

The Chairman stated that in conformity with authority of the instructions lie had informed Mr Allisoni and Mr Russell that the Board waS : willing to give necessary subsidy for a bore hole in Brunner. In regard, to the lighting on the wharf Mr Crombie was willing to-fall in with any suggestion, and for this month the lamps would be kept lighted till eleven o'clock, Mr Sheedy would like to see the lamps kept alight every night except moonlight nights. The cost for the big lamps was Gd per hour. Action of Chairman approved of. The engineer reported wet weather had delayed work a little ,' Cobden bridge repairs would be completed; lagoon bridge would be completed* a* a month. Report adopted. The tarring of Cobden bridge was decided to be done by day labor, l>V&' to be held over till dry weather set in. The harbor master reported tho bar in good work. Telegram from Minister for Railways as follows:

" The Greymouth Harbor Board representation re passenger carriages, timber and coal wagons, will have my personal attention. I need hardly assure your Board that I am anxious to do all in my power, to have every facility given the public in the direction indicated to carry on their business.—J. G. "Wabd."

From Kaitangata Coal Mine, notifying that boring apparatus would be shipped on Thursday. From Mr. Napier Bell, expressing theopinion that he thought he ought to be consulted with regard to carrying out of work recommended by him.—Resolved that Mr. Bell be informed that the Board is carrying out work by day labor under its own engineer. The following tenders for black birch sleepers were dealt with : John Lcnnihan, 2/- and 2/5 atKaimata station. No deposit. Informal. 12. A. Wickes, lot 500 in all £79 3s Gd. Accepted.
