Criterion Handicap, 6 furlongs—Tiki 1, Peerage 2, Belfast 3. Time, 118 ; div, £6 13s. Autumn Handicap, 1£ miles—St Ursula 1, Formula 2, St Peter 3. Time, 240 3-5; div, £9 19s. Hurdles. 2 miles—Kaimate 1, Tim 2 Cairo 3. Time, 356 2-5; div, £l4. Welter Handicap, 1 mile—Bacchus 1, Belfast 2, Swiftfoot 3. Time, 1 46 2-5 ; div, £6 19s. Pony Handicap, 5 furlongs—Lady Avon 1, Lena 2, St Loander 3. Time, 15 3-5; div, £ll9s. Grandstand Handicap, 6 furlongs—The Needle 1. Zealous 2, Eosella 3. Time, 129 1-5; div, £4 10s.
Victoria Handicap, 5 furlongs—Nonctte 1, Ragrabrash 2, Rere 3. Time, 15 ; div, £2l4s.
The Sydney Races. Sydney, April 13. For the Fourth clay's racing the results are ; Rous Handicap—Lord Rudolph 1, Acrasia 2, Haufcsse 3. Time 2 15. Place Handicap —La Hogue 1, Australian Colors 2, Gauleon 3. Betting 6 to ILa Hogue. Won by three lengths. Time 2 42. Steeplechase—Satan 1, Crnsado 2, Mist 3. Betting 2to 1 Volcano, 4to 1 Crusado Won by six lengths. Time 7 lOf. Second Nursery—Bruntwood 1, Caravel 2, Sir Leonard 3. Won by a neck. Time 1 42J. A.J.C. PLATE. La Carabine 1 San Fran 2 Advance ... ... ... 3
The only other starter was Paul Pry. Betting—lo to 9 on Advance, 7 to 4 against La Carabine. Paul Pry held the lead and made the pace for tvro miles, when he retired on being joined by La Carabine. San Fran led. La Carabine into the straight, Advance being third six lengths away ; but at the distance the mare had San Fran beaten, and going on won by three-quarters of a length, Advance three lengths off. Time, 0 2}. Final Handicap—Kalair I,Loch Clieveden 2, Bullomin 3. Won easily. Time, 2 Bf. The Sunday Times says that it was established yesterday that La Carabine is still the champion stayer of the season, as she won the Plate in the most convincing fashion. The way the r«ce was run |should have suited Advance better than the marc.
