Kitchoner is developing a big movement with the object of driving the Boers into the unhospitable region north of Pietersburg. In that region supplies will be scarce in winter. Private H. Eobinson, of the New Zealand Rough Eiders, was severely wounded at Lieuwfontein. London, April 14. Piotersburg and railway to town is uninjured. The residents have been removed to Pretoria. Three hundred Boers under Commandant Burgers, retired to Haenertsburg, 32 miles east of Pietersburg.
The sniper who killed "Walters and Sale (not Dale) near Pietersburg was himself killed. The inhabitants of Nylstroom have been sent to Pretoria. A strong convoy reached Rustenburg, which had been loosely invested by the enemy since January. 900 of the besiegers treked north. "When the Queen's death and the King's accession wore heliographed. to the besieged, Major Doran's garrison trained minute guns on the Boers and fired salutes with live sholl.
