Good news for travellers bj sea is announced. Mr. A. Denny, Dumbarton, of the well-known firm of shipbuilders, recently stated that the Messrs Parson and his firm bad put their purses and heads together, for a joint venture, in the shape of a passenger steamer, which would be a decided novelty to the great Glasgow Exhibition of 1901. This will bo a turbine steamer, designod to travel at considerable speed. The public might be prepared for a substantial acceleration over the present rate of speed. The great advantage of the turbine class, which they were now engaged upon, would be entire absence of vibration and noise, two very unpleasant elements in the present-day steamers.
