Bobert Kennedy, fireman on a steamer died in the hospital. The post mortem disclosed that he was plagued. Half Million Deficit. The Minister of Railways, in replying to a deputation, said that the year would probably end with a deficit of half a million. Owing to the necessity for economy there would probably be no railway policy this session, or before the general election. The simple reason was that such a policy would mean a fresh loan, and Government were unablo to pay interest on a fresh loan. Abduction. Sydney, This Day. A preliminary enquiry into the wreck of the Karrakatta exonerates the captain and officers and greatly praised the captain and chief engineer for their cool behaviour.
