Australian Horses. Beceived this day at 9 24 a.m. London, April 11. The German forces in China find that horses obtained in Oregon to be uoruly, hard to train and altogether inferior to Auooralian horses, /The Italian Fleet at Toulon. Paris, April 11.
,/ The Duke of Genoa commanding the ,/ Italian squadron visiting Toulon exchanged cordial visits with Loubert who journe.ved to Toulon to attend th 9 naval fete. The demeanour of the people at Toulon towards the Italian and Eussian <visitors is described as courteous but reserved. The King of Italy conferred the Order of Annungiata upon Loubert, who decorated the Duke of Genoa and Bear Admiral Birileff with the Grand Cordon of the Legion of Honor. Speaking at the banquet in honor of the Duke of Genoa, Loubert hoped that the cordial relations already existiog between France and Italy would be drawn closer. Genoa replied said he would acquaint the King of the cordiality of his reception, The public regard the visit of Genoa's squadron as an act of politeness only. The Gainsborough Picture. New York, April 11. Agnew estimates the value of the recovered Gainsborough picture at £30,000. It is in excellent condition. The expenses of the recovery amounted to a thousand pounds. The thieves were a gang of diamond and bank bond robbers working in London, the Continent and America.

The *' Standard's " Moscow correspondent states that the Russian War Office directly ordered the massacres of a large number of Chinese at Blagovestchenk, during the campaign in Manchuria last year and reprimanded General Orlcff for asking to bo allowed co spare peacefulinhabitants. The Czar refused to further punish Orloff. Count Tolstoi. St. Petersburg, April 11. Count Tolstoi, in a dignified letter sent to the Czar in December, pleaded for religious toleration.
