Melbourne, April 8,
The bodies have been definitely identified as members of the Federal crew. A bottle was picked up off the Geelong Heads supposed to contain the last, message from the Federal dated “Gabo Island ” April Ist, says;—“ Stormy night; the boat is sinking fast and the wind is terrible. A small party was lowered in the boat and has started for land. Signed Captain Coull,” and some other members of the crew. The owners of the Federal are talcing steps to give present relief to the widows of families lost; they also decided to inaugurate a relief fund to which the firm contributed £SOO.
