CHRISTCHURCH HOSPITAL CASE.

[pEK PEHS3 ASSOCIATION] Christchurch, April 3, The hospital board sat to-day to consider the allegations made against the staff in regard to the admission of a woman suffering from an incurable disease. The woman was sent from the Samaritan Homo to the hospital. She had been in the hospital before, but bad gone out on her own account against the rules. At first she was refused admission, but as she was very ill, she was taken in. Subsequently she died. It was stated that the byelaws preeluded the house surgeon from admitting anyone with a chronic disease, and several members of the board agreed that a separate institution ought i o bo provided for chronic eases. After hearing the statements in regard to the case, the board decided to discuss it at next meeting.
