LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN.

(per press association.) Christchurch, April 1

The enterios for the League of N.Z. Wheelmen’s Championship Meeting arc more satisfactory than was anticipated. The cash championship has filled out moderately, G. Sutherland, A. R. Barker (Christchurch) : R. Connell (Tcrnuka) ; A. Huston and A. Holland (Ashburton) ; and W. Clarkson (Palmerston North being entrants. The Amateur Championship promises to provide the keenest competition, entries including W. Turnbull and E.B. Kershaw (New South Wales); W. Reynolds and E. H. Cucksay (Auckland) : H. Amos (Timaru) ; . T. Whitfield. C. Rodger and T. Oates (Christchurch).

At the meeting of the Council of the League of N.Z. Wheelmen last night a letter was received from the Now South Wales Cyclist Union staling that Turnbull and Kershaw would represent the Union at the N.Z. League meeting, and wrote insisting on the reception of the amateur and cash riders. If this was not done it would retaliate and see that no New Zcalsrrd riders were allowed to compete in Australia. Action was deferred.
