County Improvements. Gishohne, March 30. The County Council lias resolved to submit to the rate payers a proposal to borrow £30,000 for improvement of: roads also making enquiries as to purchase of a road roller traction engine. Minister of Public Ysforks on Wing. Stiutfoud, March 30. The Mmislcr of Public Works left Stratford this morning for Eltham going to inspect the proposed Eltham Opimakc line. He expressed himself highly pleased with Mount Egmont stone. He returns to Wellington on Monday or Tuesday. The Royal Yisit. Dunedin, March 30. The Premier wires instructions have been given Government officers to prepare design and plans for section of an arch and the Mayor is a-kod to fix a site. Mr Seddon suggests the design for the local Government arch should be the entrance to Balmoral or something on similar lines which would ba familiar to their Highnesses and pleasing to the people of Otago generally.
