GREMOUTH TROTTING CLUB.

A meeting of the above club was held "last evening at the Albion Hotel. Present—Messrs. Pefcrie (chair), Tidd, Giesckiug, Kitch.ingb.am, Perkins, M'Carthy, Smith, Eissenhardt, Lutz, Steer, Pricker, and Wickes. The balance-sheet of the Summer and Autumn meetings were read and adopted. The statement showed the income from * the former to have been £IOB2, leaving a profit of £l5O 7s 3d, and from the latter £5Ol IDs lid; profit, £-12 lis 9d, making a toial profit of £498 19s for the year. Of this sum £3OO had been devoted towards the redemption of debentures,. £l2O for payment of sulkies and £llO towards plant. The result of the two. meetings was held to be satisfactory. In regard to Victoria Park recently purchased by the Club, it may be mentioned that already ;C:S00 has been paid, off in debentures, and the p.'ant costing in all £l2O, also paid off. The receipts for the year, independent of the Trotting Club, is estimated at £2OO, that the position is a very good one. The Club have a caretaker permanently employed, and before next year very many improvements will be made.

Loiters were received and rend from tlic Red Eoses mid Star Football Clubs re the use of .Victoria Park for training purposes, which was left in tlic hands of the ground committee. On the motion of the Chairman, the following race was agreed to be placed on the programme for the Christmas meeting of 1901:—Juvenile Stakes of £GO; open to 2-year olds (at time of race) bred in the West Coast boroughs or in the Counties of Bnllcr, Westland, Inangaliva and Grey, to be run in heats if necessary. Winner of each heat to receive £lO from stake. The first and second in each heat to compete in the final heat, Second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake. Nominations los to close on June Ist, and acceptances 15s, on night of first day's acceptances.
