GREY MOUTH JOCKEY CLUB.

A meeting of the committee of the Greymouth Jockey Club was hold at the Albion Hotel last evening. Present— Messrs Petrie (chairman), Walton, M‘Kay Claughesy, Shecdy, Bignall, M‘Carthy, Yarrall, and Gieseking. The treasurer presented his statement of the recent race meeting showing the total receipts to be £1,119 14s 3d. The stakes were £650, totalisator tax £99 18s 9cl, and general expenses £239 18s, leaving a net credit balance of £129 18s. When all liabilities were paid the credit balance would bo £464 6s lid.

'The accounts amounting to £336 IGs 3d were passed for payment. Resolved that £450 bo paid of debentures, thus leaving £1,150 still owing, and that the Chairman, Messrs M'Kay, M'Oarthy, and Sheedy be appointed to ballot for same. An application for A. J. Smith for a jockey’s license was withdrawn. John Sullivan was granted a jockey’s license. A trainer’s license was granted to W. Powell and G. Moore. Percy Elock applied for an apprentice's license, which was granted. After hearing the evidence taken in the Rainbow case at Westport, the disqua'ilication of the jockey Rainbow was endorsed as also that of Ferguson. An appeal by the owner of Pctrolinc against the Broadway Handicap stakes being handed to Garmoran was considered, and it was resolved to send the appeal to the Rccfton Club for an explanation. Mi"W. Simpson appealed against G. Burns for a breach of agreement regarding the training of Venture. Resolved to ask Burns for an explanation, and also write to the Westport Club. A matter in connection with the issue of tickets at the totalisator was brought forward by Mr M'Kay, and it was resolved that Mr James be asked to attend next meeting and afford an explanation.
