MAGNETIC OBSERVATIONS.
(per press association.)
Wellington, This Day. Coleridge Farr, who was engaged as observerver on the magnetic survey, has arrived here to continue observations after having spent some time in the north. From observations already taken, Farr says that there is some reason to suppose there is a magnetic. Of the disturbances revealed in South those in Bluff' and Nelson districts appear the most pronounced, Others exist in Otago and Banks Peninsula. Indeed the region between these points is magnetically irregular. There is also disturbance between Okarito and Gillespies Beach, on the West Coast. Necessary plans in connection with the establishment of a permanent observatory are being prepared by the Public Works Department.
