THE FOOTBALLERS’ CONCERT.
With such a varied and select programme laid before us, a full house is predicted foe Wednesday, the 27th inst. Talent from all parts will be gathered together. Miss Solomon will make her first appearance before a Greymouth audience, and we are quite sure will at once establish herself as a favourite, she possesses a voice of rare culture ; seldom if ever, such an opportunity has presented itse fto tho inhabitants of Greymouth. Miss Driscoll, the mezzo-soprano of Wellington, also contributes an item, as well as various well-known Greymouth favourites. Master W. Evans wWI play a cornet selection “Russia” which his tutor, Mr Traversi, played in a competition in England and came second to Great Britain’s champion. Tho Trio, by the three little maids is one of the preitiest items on the programme, and will cause some little amusement. Tho light and graceful dansenso, Miss A. Malfroy of Hokitika, dances tho serpentine danec, which in itself is unique; while tho khaki girls uphold tho honour of the corps in a very difficult drill. Weather permitting they ought to have a crowded house. Tho orchestra adds its quota to tho evening’s amusement, and will play two overtures. Miss M. Easson acts as accompanist throughout
