He showed the objector the application and asked him to read it. Ho said he could not see it, so 'die dredgemastcr of tho Maori Queen read it to him, Witness did not leave a copy with him.
By Hannan : Knew tho objector held the ground, and stopped when they told him to do so. He was tho contractor for supplying the Maori Queen with (Irewood. There was plenty of wood on tho Maori Queen area, but it was too hard to get. There was plenty further up stream ifit for the purpose.
By Guinness: The objectors had not done any work on their claim. It had only been granted three weeks. The wood on tho Maori Queen area was not good for steaming purposes. The application refused with costs.
