Wellington, This Day. An estimate received by Ward through the Agent General shows cost of the material for a new cable for La Perouse to Wakapuaka would be £200,000 delivered and laid under guarantee and will be a better and of a larger type than the present New Zealand Australia cable. Ward points out that even at the Eastern Extension Company’s statement of working expenses and interest on cost and working expenses would amount only to £12.453 year and tho total revenue of tho Eestorn Extensions present cable for 18991900 is £18,574.
