FUTURE OF NORFOLK ISLAND.
(by electric'telegraph—copyright.)
Sydxey, March 11,
The Daily Telegraph's Norfolk correspondent writing with reference to the Island being made a repeating station for the Pacific Cable, says it will entirely change the existing conditions and create
a new era of prosperity. With the cable it is hoped will come a new confederacy in the South Pacific with New Zealand as beacon light. Then the Island may hope to have some sort of Government more suitable to its wants, as so far at present the suzerainty has proved a total failure.
