BORING FOR COAL.
It is pleasing to note that members of the Greymouth Harbor Board are now in real earnest in regard to prospecting for coal at Brunner. Ai last night's meeting the unanimous idea was to
get a start at once. Home favored a bore hole near Dobson Railway station, others where Mr M'Kay pointed out, it being certain that two or three bores would be required, but all were willing to sink the question of site for the first bore in order to get the work begun without delay. Full information in regard to rods is expected t j be to hand by Saturday's mail. Upon receipt of this a special meeting of the Board will be convened, and arrangements made for an immediate commencement. Certainly the present outlook clearly indicates that delays are dangerous. Prospecting i? necessary to the very existence of Brunnor as a mining centre.
