THE FATE OF AN UNKNOWN MAN.
A visitor to Las Palmas, writing to one of the London dailies, details a mysterious affair which has just taken place there. Two years ago, he states, a small white dog, of English breed, was constantly scratching and whining in the Triana, the main street of Las Palmas. The animal was eventually driven away
by the police, but the other day, the street being up for repairs, the corpse of an Englishman (judging by the clothes) was discovered concealed in a gully. The unfortunate man had been stabbed in the back. It is supposed that he landed late one night and had been murdered. He was a tall man, of about thirty years of age, but his identity and the actual manner in which he met his death remains a mystery.
