Owing to the outbreak of plague, it is possible that the Imperial troops will not land here.

Sydney, This Day,

Considerable delay has been caused to shipping owing to quarantining and fumigating.

Perth, March 0.

The plague has made its appearance. Konworihy, head of a firm of city grocers died, and it was subsequently discovered to he from plague. A map named Griffiths, employed by Kenworthy, developed suspicious symptoms, and was removed lo (he hospital which is quarantined.

A third supposed case is a Chinaman residing near the Federal buildings.

The contacts have been inoculated, and strenuous precautions are being taken to prevent the spread by the Government who have authorised the Board of Health to spare no expense in the matter.

Four fresh cases of plague arc reported at Capetown. They are two whites and two Kaffirs.

The Premier states that Capetown and Sydney have been declared infected ports, and that all vessels arriving in Now Zealand from Capetown arc to be examined.
