Heavy Sentences on Rebels

Received this day at .10 43 a.m. London, March 5. Commandant Van Eccnda with 500 men is laagered at Eiepkloof near Colesberg. The Boers have occupied Pearston 40 miles southeast of Graaffreneifc. A number of rebels have received three years each. A farmer was fined £2OO or two years imprisonment for harboring the rebels. Bennett Burleigh says that the second Australian contingents while willing to stay until retained arc asking that the date of return should bo fixed.
