GOLD DREDGING.
The New River dredge has taken up a new position 200 yard 3 higher up the river.
Mr W. Robertson, is expected to have his present charge—the Greonstono Creek dredge—in work at the end of the month.
The Rooklands Beach will make a start at the end of this week. The electric light plant is completed, and is a great success.
Much interest is being taken by several gentlemen here in a dredging claim at Humprey's Gully, which has every appearance of being worked successfully.
Timber for the Prince of Wales claim at Eoss is beiDg delivered on the ground from Grimmond's mill.
A subsidy of £ for £ up to £l5O has been granted by the Mines Department towards the cost of widening the Shallow Rash Track.
