Chbistciiukcii, This Day. The polo match Victoria v Christchurch resulted in a win for the visitors by five points to four after a hard fought game. Drowning Fatality. Tijiaru, February 13. Boyd Thompson, an old identity, was drowned in the Kangitata last night whilo fishing. Ho was over 80 years old and an enthusiastic angler. Ho was ranger of tho Acclimatisation Society. The Otarama Murder. Dunedin, February 13. At the polico court Alexander Thompson seaman on the s.s. Otarama was chargod with tho murder of George Gibbs one of the crew. The evidence adduced was similar to that given at the inquest. A seaman named Stiles swore ho saw the prisoner get out of his bunk with a knife saying he could not stand the row any longer then approached Gibbs who a moment later said "T stabbed."

Beautiful weather peevails for the dem»nstration in honor of the Imperial troops. The streets were thickly lined with spectators and the utmost enthusiasm was manifested. After the delivery of addresses of welonme, the troops marched to the Recreation Ground where they are being entertained by tho citizens.
