ODDFELLOWS ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual District Meeting of the North Westland District, I. 0. O. F. M. U. was held at Blackball on Tuesday the oth. Present: Prov. G. M. Lock, Prov. D. G. M. Duncan Johnston, Prov. 0. S. Oollings, and the following delegates.— Westport Lodge, P. P. G. M. Sloan and P. G. Swain; Charleston Lodge, P.P.G.M Hurburgh and P. G. Fleming; Eeefton, P. P. G. M. Steele and P. P. G. M. Irving ; Waimangaroa, P. G. Maloney; Blackball, Perm, Sec. Curry. Resolved—That this meeting desires to record on behalf of this District of Manchester Unity its high appreciation of the virtues and wisdom of Government of the late Sovereign Queen Victoria, under which true liberty has existed and constitutional rights have been maintained, for the benefit of tho nation. The attributes of charity, love and benevolance promulgated by our Order had a brilliant example in the life of her late Majesty. Finally we desire to record our sympathy with the Royal Penally in their loss, and tender our localty to the King who has, by his actions as Prince of Wales, indicated his fitness to control the Imperial nation.

The balance-sheet was received and adopted. Returns from Lodges and District were read to the meeting and ordered to bo published. Resolved—That the Westport Lodge be requested to amend the division of interest in the Bonus Funds No 2 so as to give each a share in proportion to its capital. The District Officers’ report was received, and the Prov. 0.9. was instructed to writs to the Lodges to endeavour to reduce the sick pay expenditure.

A circular from the Auckland District was read enquiring the views of the District as to the establishment of A.M.C. for New Zealand. It was resolved that this District considers it advisable to send a delegate to the proposed conference, and fails to see the advantages of an A.M.C. taking into account the scattered location of Districts and the expenses of travelling. Resolved—That the disputed allotments of bonus in Charleston Lodge affecting members be referred to P. G. Regnolds and P.P.B, Sloan, of Westport Lodge for adjustment. '

Resolved—That tho surplus interest over five per cent, received by the Sick and Funeral Fund in the Charleston Lodge be all iwod to be apportioned in accordance with the District rules and subject to the approval of the Registrar. The following nominations were received for the office of D.G.M.; —Bros. Fleming, Ralph, Irving, Eidd, Einsella. Resolved. That the following be the District Officrs for the ensuing, year; Prov, G.M. Duncan Johnson; Prov. D,G. M„ W. Fleming; Prov. 0. 8., W. G. Golliogs; Warden, P. G. Swaine. The other officers were re-elected. It was also resolved ihal tho next District Meeting be held at Westport, and ha) the Blackball Lodge be exempt from levies for one year.
