Religious Liberty.

The King of Portugal yesterday in receiving a deputation from the Evangelical Alliance at Buckingham Palace said that at his distinct wish religious liberty was granted to all religious Christiana throughout his donominions. It was his determination to enforce this rule, and he was giving orders to ensure it being carried out. Suicide in 8t Paul’s. The French Army Committee has adopted Adrian Monteoello’s reorganisation scheme reducing the term of service to 10 months or a year, and offering privates and non-commissioned officers bounties and high pay if they enlist tor five or to years.
Fatal Railway Accident. New York, Feb. 8.
The Western bound Now York and Chicargo Limited Express, one of the fastest on the Eric railway, was derailed owing to a fish plate breaking in the curve between Amasa and Greenville. Six were killed and twelve injured.

Queen Wilhelmina was married at The Hague to Duke Henry of Mecklen-burg-Schwerin. The ceremony aroused tremenduous enthusiasm. The British Minister was present at Queen Wilhelmina’s marriage. Opening of the Canadian Parliament. Ottawa, February 8. The speech from the Throne in opening the Canadian Parliament expressed the hope that the Duke and Duchess of York will visit Canada, and assured them of a hearty welcome. It mentioned the satisfactory progress of the Pacific Cable scheme and expressed the hope that nothing would occur to prevent the completion of the cable. Mr Muloch, Postmaster-General, announced a bill to arrange Cannda’s finandal share of the scheme.
