Westport, This Day.
The Coal Mines Commission sat three days in Westport and has just finished a six day’s sitting at Mokihinui. at which place a great quantity of evidence was taken.
The Commissioners visit Granity mine on Friday, adjourning for Saturday and will proceed with Granity and Denniston mines enquiries next week. At Mokihinui views in favor of State coalmine being established were urged upon the Commissioners by representatives of the mining community. No intimation was given by Commissioners of ,how they regarded the proposal. The were marked by great ability atm decorum on the part of those who appmred for the miners and others interesteqf
