WESTLAND PASTORAL AND AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the committee of the Westland Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held atKanieri last evening. A very large quantity of routine business in connection with the forthcoming show was gone through, Mr William Coleman,of Hope, near Nelson, was appointed judge of the classes for horses and cattle. This gentleman has been acting in a simular capacity for a number of Societies, in the Nelson and Wellington districts and should therefore be eminently qualified for the position of judge. Mr T, W. Beare, of Inc.hbonnic Station wrote accepting the position of judge for sheep, and Mr W. R. Kettle of Greymouth likewise agreed to perform his old duties as judge of dairy produce. The Secretary was instructed to make all necessary arrangements for the erection of hurdles, engagement of band and the sale of booths. The collectors of donations and subscriptions arc to be notified to immediately proceed with their work. From advises received there is every probability of very strong outside competition which should gteately add to the attractiveness of the show.
