OUR KUMARA LETTER.
[OTTR OWX COEBESPOXDEXT.]
Eumaea, This Day.
While Mr G. D. Wilson and Phillips were driving down the Zig Zag yesterday, the horse attached to their trap tripped and fell, precipitating tke occupants on to the road, The trap had a shaft broken and the horse its knees cut, but the two gentlemen referred to escaped unhurt. What might have proved a very serious accident was narrowly averted by the plucky action of Mr B. Wall, driver of Mr Rugg's drag. Whilo in the act of driving the mails to the Postmaster of the Office, he was thrown from his scat to the ground by the horses taking fright and bolting. Springing to his feet immediately, he seized the nearest horse, and after being dragged about a hundred yards, and smashing through a fence, he managed to pull the runaways up. I am glad to be able to record that Mrs Wall of Main Street, who has been seriously ill this last few days, was on latest advice'somewhat improved.
