AFRICA’S THANKS TO AUSTRALIA.
[BY ELECTRIC IBLKQRAPH.—COPYRIGHT.]
[per press association.]
Sydney. January 17. Sir Wm. Lyne has received a letter from. Messrs Frost and Moor, official representatives of the Cape Colony and Natal at the Federal celebrations. They expressed themselves impressed with the prosperity and profound peace prevailing in Australia. In our hour of weed and sore distress Australia, came unasked to our assistance, and gave their best and bravest for a mighty deed, which not only helped to save our colonics from the enemy, but added to the honor and prestige of the Empire. We can never forget it, and on behalf of our fellow colonists offer to those whoso dear ones will never return the most heartfelt sympathy, and assure them that the graves of their heroes fallen in the war will ever be cared for. The women of South Africa, with the assistance of the Government, have taken the matter in hand.
