AN INTERESTING RETURN.
The results so far obtained from the Grey Eiver Dredging Company’s claim afford very convincing proof of the prospects of gold dredging on the West Coast. The weekly yield might not inaptly be termed an “ Up-grade gold yield.” The figures Which are as follows, are well worthy of study : WKEIfT 07 DWT OH To Sept 23 ... 4< 7 0 „ Oct I ... 8 4. 12 „ „ 8 ... 12 17 12 „ „ 13 ... 22 1 0 „ „ 20 ... 11 10 (5 „ IS’ov 10 (3 weeks) 17 15 5 „ „ 17 ... 30 2 0 „ „ 21, ... 47 17 18 „ Dec 1 ... 51 10 12 „ „ 8 ... 107 1!) 0 „ „ 15 ... 1(51 0 0 „ „ 23 ... 11(5 0 0
Total ... (530 10 17 This gives an average of 45 ounces per week since the dredge started, and as twelve ounces will pay all expenses the value of this prop arty can be easily rea'ised. Of cpurse continuous returns such as that of the last three weeks need not be expected, although at times very much better yields will be recorded. The average, however, for some years to come will, it is believed, considerably exceed the average to date. If so, what a great dividend payer the Grey Eiver will be.
