London, January 10. Twelve of the Imperial Light Horse were killed and 25 wounded, the majority severely in Babington,s flight at Naauwpoorfc. Eight men belonging to the Scots Greys, Guards, and Hussars were also wounded, The Boors’ vanguard is 20 miles from Pipuetberg. The invaders have been instructed to cut the communication near the coast, and thus compel the British to hurry southwards and deal with the intruders, Botha meanwhile taking the offensive. Kruger is convalescent. The latest reports in regard to the attitude of the Cape Dutch are most reassuring. Lieut-Col Henniker’s force, including the Second Coldstreams, hold an extended line south of Sutherland, The invaders have moved westward from Fraserberg. A strong British column has garrisoned Carnarvion. Four British columns are operating from Middleburg.
