Gorton and Son's report :— We held our usual quarterly horse sale at Feild« ing oo Saturday. The entries were numerous and mainly of good quality. The attendance was good nnd a most successful sale resulted. A j;ood demand existed for draughts, and hacks sold better than of late. Messrs Hocknn Bros, again favoured us with entries of draughts and unbroken basks of good quality which met with kean competition, the majority of the draughts falling to the bid of Mr R. Maifell, of Nelson. We quote on account of Mensrs Hoeken Bros.— Draughts, from £.8 to 499; unbroken hacks, from ±7 to £9. On account of other vendors —Draughts, from £10 to £27; hacks, £5 to £8; unbroken hacks, £1 10s to ;E8 ss ; pony mares with foals, £1 10s to £2 3s 6d ; unbroken light draughts, £H ss; child's pony, £3 10a ; pony, saddle and bridle, £6 6s ; crocks and weeds, 10s to £2 155 ; dr»y, £19.
