Tbe alarmist rumonrg current here with reference to a probable wat between America and Spain are havisg a depressing effect on th« Strck Exchange. At a meeting of tbe New York Chamber of Commerce, a resolution carried, demanding an increase in coastal defences, caused a depression in prices in Wall Street, tbe depreciation in value of stocks totalling 25 millica dollars.
