Ainberitc and Fucile traversed a mile and a half comfortably in 2min 48soc, while Medford finished in front of Coil over the same journey in 2min 47sec. Bloodshot ran the last six furlongs of ton in lmin 23$ sec, and should be dangerous in the Williamatown Cup. Foliage pleased the touts immensely whilst traversing a mile and a quarter in 2min 16sec. Positano again stuck up in the middle of a gallop with Wait-a-Bit and The Grafter through his rider striking him with the whip. Last night a backer offered 7000 to 4000 on Aurum for the Derby, but the bookmakers would only accent 700 to 400. Close on .£ISOO was booked about Wait-a-Bit for the Melbourne Cup at 100 to 11, and he then hardened a point, whilst Aurum also advanced to 100 to 12. The double Aurum and Delaware was supported to win jEIO,OOO. Wagers of 1000 to 50 each were taken about Clarion, Amberite, and Toreador ! for the Melbourne Cup, 1000 to 30 each ( Manfred and Dreamland, 500 to 30 ench Ayrshire and Trent, and 2000 to 120 Fucile. Later. At Flemington this morning Ayroline, with a moderate weight up, covered a mile and half in excellent style in 2min 44 J sec, finishing strongly. At Caulfield, Trent, with a light boy in the saddle, traversed the Cup distance nicely in 3min4osec. After going four furlongs at threequarter pace Battalion rattled over nine more in 2min 4sec. Fleet Admiral defeated Mora by six lengths in a mile and three-quarters, registered in 3min 16Rec. Cocos is scratched for the Maribyrnong Plate and Metford and Carbineer for the Derby. Private accounts report The Merry Boy as doing exceedingly well at Sandringham. 700 to 400 has been laid on Aurum for the Derby. An offer to take 14 to lin hundreds against Fleet Admiral for the same race was refused. Amberito has eased to 3 to 1. Aurum and Wait-a-Bit are favourites for the Cup at 100 to 12 each. 2000 to 50 has been taken about Delaware, and 2000 to 120 Trent. Delaware, with 9st 121 b up, won the Maribyrnong Cup yesterday, covering the mile and a quarter in 2min lOsec. Zitclla (6st 101 b) was second and Canoona (Bst 21b) third.
