Mcs-irs Gorton and Son report : — We held a special horse sale at Feilding on Saturday and despite the most unfavorable weather the attendance was very large. A pood demand existed for broken and v.nbroken draughts and unbroken light iiarness sorts. Bidding was very keen for heavy draughts and a very successful sal<: resulted. Those sold on behalf of Messrs Hoeken Bros, as usual arrested a good deal of attention and sold readily at quotations. Hacks and crocks I were nearly nil passed out unsold. We quote : — On account of Messrs Hoeken Bros. — Draught mare, .£27 ss; do., £25; other?, from £18 to £19 5s ; average, £21 14h. On account of Mr Jas. Bull — Light harness draughts unbroken, £10 12s 6d to £I'2. On account of other vendors — Brood maret from £5 to £10 1r ; unbroken light horses, 2 and 3-year-olds, from £5 Is to £10 IDs ; yearlings, £1 Is to £2 7s 6d ; harness mare. £10; crocks in low condition. The Egmont Farmers' Union report as follows : — At Mtvnaia on the 20th instant we offered a larger number of stock than we have had the pleasure of doing for a considerable time. The attendance was larpre. bidding was not very keen, but we succeeded in placing most of the stock before leaving the yard at prices slightly in advance of our last quotations. We quote : — Cattle— Fat cows, £3 2s 6d to £4 15s ; empty cows and heifers, .£1 10s 6d to £2 Is ; dairy cows, L4 to L5 12s 6d ; dairy heifers, L3 to 1-4 15s; 2-year steers, L2 to VI 5s ; yearlings, LI to LI 4s ; weaners, 14s to LI.
