(Per Press Association.) Melbourne. October 25. Business was fairly brisk during the day. Odds of 7to 4 wen: laid on Auruin for the Derby, whilst Amberite was supported at 5 to 2 against. 4000 to 420 w*s taken about Wait-a-Bit for the Melbourne Cup, 2000 to 200 Coil, 1000 to 100 Aurura, 600 to 30 Toreador. Wait-a-Bit is first favourite. The following scratchings are posted for the Cup : — North-Eiist, Miraculum, Royal Admiral, Tapioca, Nudity, Virtue, Bunyan, La Carbina, Carbineer, St. David, Mn.rungsi, Pinfire, Malto, Lord Richmond, Locksmith and Response.
