WOOL AND SKIN SALES.
Messrs Levin and Co., Limited, Wellington, report that they held their usual wool and skin sale on Friday, They state : — We offered a fair catalogue of wool and 1350 sheepskins. There is no change in values to report, and nearly every lot changed hands at prices up to recent quotations. A small line of the new season's clip was catalogued — wool > shorn from from dry ewes, light in grease and of medium character. For this 7d was bid We would advise woolgrowers to send forward at once any oddmonts of wool and skins they may have on hand, so that they may be sold before buyers' attention is taken op with the new season's wool. The next sale will be held on October 15th. We quote as under:- Crutchings, 3£d to 4Jd ; dead wool, Sid ; locks, 2Jd. Skins— Full \ wools, ssd to s£d ; half to three-quarter woolled, 4£d to 5d ; medium, 4}d to 4£d ; , butchers' green, up to 5s each ; bare pelts, 4d each.
