The Derby and Epsom Handicap cards were called over at Tattersall's to-night. The fraternity mustered strongly, but speculation was not so brisk as was anticipated, and no very heavy lines were booked. For the Derby, Amberite is a very firm favorite at 100 to 9 on, while 3 to 1 is oftered against Clarion, 5 to 1 Metford, 8 to 1 Patriot. For the Epsom Handicap the betting is : — 100 to 11 Survivor and Devoted, 100 to 10 wanted ; 100 to 10 Aurea, 100 to 9 wanted ; 100 to 8 Chief, 100 to 6 Phillip, 100 to 5 Sortie, Feu-de-Joie, Insulator, Moto, Diamonds, 100 to 4 Vivian, Eobin Hood. Subsequently a run was made on behalf of Survivor, who advanced to 7 to 1 offered, 8 to 1 wanted, while all the money available at 10's was booked to Devoted and Aurea who left off favorite at 8 to 1. For the Metropolitan the beet lines booked during the day were £2000 against Coil at 8 to 1, and a similar amount about Woodford at 100 to 7 and 8.

(Per Press Association) Melbourne, Sept. 9. The Victorian Racing Club has adopted its new rules without material amendment. It struck out the rule fixing the maximum weight for jumping races at 13st 71b, and decided that all fines should go to swell the Distressed Jockeys' Fund. O'Trigger has been scratched for both Cups.
