Manawatu Rugby Union.

A meeting of delegates to the Mana. watu Rugby Union was held in Palmerston last evening. Present— Messrs H. Nash (Palmerston), L. Giorgi (Rongotea), E. Reade (Unionists), Mabon (Foxtonj, W. RobiDSon (Albambra), H. Palmer (secretary.) Mr Nash occupied the chair. In reply to a communication from the Canterbury Rugby Union, it was resolved that on account of the state of football affairs in this district this year, the Manawatu Rugby Union cannot see their way to send a rep. team this year, but hoped to do so next year. It was resolved, That ono match be played between the Unionists and Rongotea Clubs to decide the junior chain pionship. It waa resolved that the final match between the Unionists and Rongotea be played on a w«dieaday, an amendment by Mr Giorgi that it be played on a Saturday being lost. Resolved, That the Unionists v. Rongotea final match be played on Wednesday, August 11th, at Awahuri, and start at 3 p.m. ' Permission was granted for a match between Marion and Palmeraton. It was decided to send a rep. team to Fowlers on August 14th to play a match with the Oroua Union. The Bush Union wrote stating they could play Manawatu on August 2nd, on their return from Wanganui, and it was decided to reply that a match could not be arranged on such short notice, A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting.
