Settlement in the North.
(Per Press Association.') Auckland, July 21. The Minister for Public Works, Mr Mock, M.H.R., and Messrs Grant (traffic manager) aod Vickeruian (engineer) ar> rived by special train at Kaukapakapa this ruorniug. lv reply to a deputation, which warmly advocated the claims of Northern settlers to railway extension, the Minister said the country was better than he was led to believe. The liuo must be continued northwards, and the Cabinet would fairly consider the questou this session.
