The Amberley Murder.

SHEEHAN TO BE EXECUTED.

At a meeting of the Executive Conncil yesterday the death sentence passed upon William Sheehan, the Amberley murderer, was considered. It was decided tbat there was no reason for interference with the sentence, and that, therefor**, tbe law must take its course. The date for the execution will be fixed by the Cbristchurch sheriff.

(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, July 7. The man Sheehan, whom the Cabinet to day decided should be hanged for the Amberley murder, continnes calm and quiet. He sptnds a good deal of time in reading, and receives tbe ministrations of Father Cnmmings. Tbe sheriff has not yet decided the date of the execution.
