Manchester Road Board.
The ordinary monthly meeting of tbe above body was held this morning. Present — Messrs G. Wheeler, W. G. Pearc*. H. J. Booth, D. Thomas, and G. S. Bumble (the newly-elected member for No. 7 ward). In the absence of the chairman (Mr F. Y. Lethbridge), Mr Pearce was voted to the chair. Correspondence was read and dealt with as follows :— From R. Proctor, complaining that the earth from cutting baa been tipped against bis fence.— Mr Proctor waited on the Board in connection with this matter and Mr Pearce was instructed to arrange with Mr Proctor. From G. G. Hill, clerk Feilding Borough, asking what amount was received in license fees within district, in order that cost of licensing election could be apportioned. From clork Feilding Borough Council, stating the cost of maintaining the Kiwitea bridge and approaches was £52 9a Bd, this board's share being £18 2s fid. From G. Brewer, Ashurst, asking the Board to make a footpath opposite a hall he is erecting.— Application complied with on usual terms. From C. E. Capper, drawing attention to two drains which the Board undertook to keep open on the Pohanpina road, Ashurii, and aiking that they be attended to as soon as possible. From D. D. Currie, Aehurst, aiking permiuion to erect fence on road line to protect live fence.— Parminion granted. From B. Treinewan, aiking that his name be placed on rat* roll for the section 153, Mugby Junction, in place of Lari Jenien.— Alteration agreed to. From Mrs Archer, asking to be allowed 30s a month charitable aid.— No aotjon taken, From W. Newman, aiking thit his wife's name be placed, on rate roll in place of his for section 36, Haloomb*. — Alteration agreed to. (Left sitting.)
