A Valuable Points Prize
At a meeting yesterday of the Com-, tuittee of the Wellington A. and P. Assooi. ation, it was decidod that, besides the £100 for Liucolns, the following additional points prizes should be provided (subject to sufficient support being received) : — .£so for Shorthorns, £50 for English Leicesters, £30 for dairy cattle, £50 for Ronineys. The chairman said there were several reasons why they should make a special effort. The Palmerstou people were running them very hard. The country Association had taken Wellington's day, and bad showed a dig. position to run them oil' the rails but he did not think thoy could do it. The Pali merstou people depeuded upon Mr Hardy to give them great assistance and to use bis great influence to bring the bulk of Lincoins to their show, but he (the president) was confident that a prize of £100, together with the Governor's cup, which wai worth perhaps another £50, would bring (he Lineolns from all parts, A member said if the Falmerston people heard they intended giving a big points prize, they would bs inclined to go £25 better.— Times.
