Ohristchurch, June 4 In addition to the reduction of the wool rates for sailing ships next season announced last week, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company and New Zealaud Shipping Company have agreed to reduce the steamer freights by an eighth of a penny per lb. Next season's rates of freight for greasy wool will therefore bo three-eighths of a penny by the sailers and a halfpenny by the steamers. At the ballot for sections in the Hor sley Down homestead today there was a large attendance and groat excitement. There worn 764 applications for 25 sections.
