(Per Press Association.) Wellington, June 3. In the Divorce Court, Soler deposed that be bad employed a man named Dale to get evidence in support of bis divorce, and bad offered £25 and L 75 to tbe cook and waiter at tbe hotel in Masterton, if they could prove in Court tbat Mrs Soler bad done wrong. G Bassett gave evidance as to watcbing tbe botel and seeing Mrs Soler enter Tucker's bedroom at 1 a.m. Bassett is the man who was pat on trial for being concerned in Detective Kirby's escape, and some amusement was caused by Mr Jellicoe remarking to him, " I believe you have been concerned with other kinds of cases, packing cases for instance." Witness retorted, " I believe you advised a man to clear, and I assisted him."
