Thomson, E Go^dftr-h.-re. O. H- Saj -.'.-oil, C, W Fowles, J Gould and '7. G. ."ih«c..-er. Correspondence was received uud dealt with as follows : — From Mrs E. A. Brown, Makino, applying for charitable aid — .Enquiries to be made into circumstances before assistance given and as to whether her relatives are in a position to assist her. From Dr Moncktmi stating B. Montgomery required medical attention. c From E. Craine, requesting permission to opeu the grave of the late Mrs T. Oraine to enable him to identify whether it was that person's or Mrs Spooner's, as W. Spooner claimed she same grave as that of his own wife's. From W. Adams, contractor, asking permission to erect a 6mall temporary shed in a corner of Macarthur street — Granted. From C. Bray, architect, asking permission to stack material and erect scaffolding in connection with Mr Darragh's new store, ou footpath. — Permission granted. From F. J. Manseli and J. Liddla, requesting change of names on rate roll from former to latter for sections 740 to 745 — Alteration agreed to. From Mrs Turner, requesting that something be done to footpath in King Street in front of her property, to make it pasaable.— Referred to Public Works Committee. From Kiwitea Ocunty Clerk, stating the chairman, Mr William9on, had been appointed to attend a conference with reference to proposed River Board. From A. D. Willis, secretary to Wanganui Executive Rangitikei Relief Fund, with reference to dUtribu. tion of fund. From the Borough Inspector, a report. From Alex Dick, Apiti, applying for a earner's license — Granted. From F. W. Bunting, complaining of a nuisance alleged to exist on a property at the rear of his premises. — Referred to Inspector of Nuisances to report at next meeting. From the Clerk Manchester Road Board, stating that Board had no intention of reinstating Menzies' bridge. From Mayor of Hastings, acknowledging with thanks case of clothing forwarded by the Feilding Dorcas Society for distribution to sufferers by late floods. From T. King, Town Clerk of Balls Town Board, acknowledging receipt, wiili thanks, of three cases of clothing for distribution amongst those who suffered by the late flood. From clerk Rangitikei County Council, asking what amount was received in licenses for year ended March 31st last, in order that expenses of the late Bangitikci Licensing district be apportioned. — £168 received for license fees. From clerk Pohangina County Council, stating that Council was not inclined to take any action in the matter of the proposed River Board. From R. N. Keeling, clerk Paluierston Borough Council, stating the Mayor, Mr W. T. Wood, had been appointed to represent that Council at conference re proposed River Board. From Finance Committee, recommending accounts amounting to £273 4s 8d be passed. — Adopted Resolved, That the application of Mr Crane for permitsion to open the grave of the late Mrs Crane, for the purpose of indentification, be referred to the Colonial Secretary for permission to carry out the said work. Resolved, That this Council will consider Mrs Brennan's application for a rebate of rates on property in Manchester street wben proof is given that such property has been vacant six months during the year. Resolved, That the application of Mr Rutherford tor a lease of the Recreation reserve be referred to the Beserve Committee with power to act. Resolved, That fifty copies of the balance-sheet be printed. The Council then adjourned.
