A junior cup match was played on Mi Letbbridge's ground yesterday afternoon before a large number of spectators, be tween the Alhatnbra (Palmeraton North), and tbe Unionists (Fcildiug), resulting in a win for the latter by 4 points (a gaol from a marls) to nil. In tbe first spell M. Brunette secured a mark, from which A. Rcade placed a splendid gaol The game was very fas!; from start tc finish. The Aluaru bra men were award ed several free kicks and bad several shots at gaol, but without success. The Albambra forwards bad the best of tbe scrums, while the Unionists' backs were far superior to their opponents, theii kicking and running being good. On one occasion the Unionists got a splendid dribbling rush on, beaded by Walton and Morris, which resulted in the lattei touching down behind tbe visitor's goal line, bat was given as a " force down." Both teams went in for passing, wbicb resulted in getting some very good rushes on, which were much admired by the on lookers. Taking the game all through the Unionists had tbe best of it. Mr P. Giesen had charge of the whistle, and Messr3 Georgi and C. McDonnell acted as line umpires. There will be a practice on the local ground on Saturday, when all members of the Feilding Club who can do so are requested to attend. The following team will represent Rongotea in their match against Awahuri, at Rongotea, on Saturday :—Fullback, Chas. Costall ; tbree-quartres, Penny, Brougbton, Costall ; five-eighths, Harper ; half, P. Carter ; forwards, Duthic, Rodgers, Burgess (2), Edwards (2), Duke ; wings, Broughton and Jarvis.
