Romney-Lmcoln Wool.
We have been shown the report of the officer iv charge of the Bank of New Zealand Produce Department in London on a consignment of wool sold on March 20 on account of Mr G. Willis. The report says : " This was a parcel of good, clean, useful wool. It was li«ht in condition and attractive. The American buyers bid for it, aud on that .account it sold at a higher price than it would otherwise have clone." The wool referred to was Romuey with a dash of Lincoln, the latter beiug fine aud bright, giving weight to tlie fleeces aud length of staple. Mr Wilks iul'orras us that many of his ewes and one hogget clipped 121bs. The fleeces were not skirted, only dirty bellies being rejected. The price obtaiucd by Mr Wilks for his woo! was Biil per lb, which about tops tlie market in thir, district, and it r.iiscs the (juestion whether a jndiciuus cross t>o twecn Romuey ewes and liuo, dcu.-o woolled Lincoln rams would not return the most monoy iv regard to flccoc and carcase, but care should be taken iv selecting tho rar.oo.
